Kacey Musgraves - Same Trailer Different Park

Just when I think the Academy of Country Music is gonna fall in love in the back of a cop car with Keith Urban, they go and do this...

So here’s my album pick of the month, also the ACM Best Album, Same Trailer Different Park.

This gal now has it all...  couple ACM awards, a pair of Grammys, high praise from critics, rants from Fox News writers, and scorn from "country music" fans who will not tolerate a song that references smoking pot, but are perfectly contempt with every other song on the radio about getting hammered drunk.

“If you wanna fill your bottle up with lighting, you’re gonna have to stand in the rain”

“When the straight and narrow get a little too straight, roll up a joint, or don’t, just follow your arrow wherever it points”

This is Sinatra at the opera. Charlie Sheen "winning". Morgan Freeman explaining everything.

And not only did Musgraves wrangle up the Best Album award, she also earned a co-writing credit for the Best Song, “Mama’s Broken Heart” performed by Miranda Lambert.

“We get bored, so, we get married”

Musgraves' first hit single “Merry Go ‘Round” was as also up for Best Song.

“Don’t wreck my reputation, let me wreck my own”

P.S. How is it that “Wagon Wheel”, written 16 years ago (although its origin begins with Dylan in ’73), was just now up for Song of the Year?  Remember when they did this to Ryan Adams too?  Either way, Ryan got his swimming pool lined with golden unicorn horns, Dylan gets another beach house in Malibu, and Old Crow Medicine Show gets applauded every night for their Darius Rucker cover.
